Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Team joined forces with several primary schools last week for an eco-friendly day of litter picking as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ campaign.
The campaign encourages thousands of volunteers to pledge to pick up the rubbish littering their communities – and our Neighbourhood Engagement Team helped local school children to get picking and binning.
In Droylsden, 14 children from Fairfield Road Primary School’s eco team joined officer Gemma Batchelor to help spring clean their neighbourhood and encourage everyone to look after their environment and protect local wildlife.
Jigsaw also gifted the school new litter picking equipment to help the eco committee with future litter picks.
In Nottingham, around 60 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from Netherfield Primary School helped to tidy up their local Ley Street recreation ground.
Officer Martin Curtis provided the school with litter pickers and gloves to help support them in the Great British Spring Clean and encourage them to respect their local environment.
And in Moss Side, officer Tanuja Patel supported the Spring Clean by contributing towards the cost of a skip and supporting Jigsaw tenants and local residents to clean and tidy up surrounding areas and allotments.
