Taking Confident Steps to Work

Residents have been upskilling and enhancing their chance of finding work thanks to various courses run by Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Team.

In Chorley, Officer Tracy Townson organised a Confident Steps to Work course at Hollinshead Community Centre with Alex Roberts from Chorley Council.

The course took place one day a week across four weeks and encouraged residents to find ways to build their confidence and address barriers that may hinder their chance of finding work.

In Nottingham, Officer Martin Curtis organised a Level 2 Food Hygiene session with volunteers and staff at Sneinton Community Hub.

A total of 12 participants obtained their qualification which will help them gain a greater understanding of food hygiene and assist them when searching for jobs.

Nabila Sajid from the Hub said: “Everyone enjoyed the training and it’s great that we now have so many qualified volunteers!”
