Making a Difference in Mapperley

Making a Difference in Mapperley

The local community gathered together to give something back to their neighbourhood and make a difference in Nottingham last week.

Martin Curtis, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, organised the ‘Give Something Back’ event across Westmoore Close in Mapperley, Nottingham with Jigsaw colleagues, waste management partner ENVA, Gedling Borough Councillor Roy Allan and local residents, dedicating their time to help out.

Residents filled two skips with unwanted household items and Ramscape, Jigsaw’s Grounds Maintenance contractors, mowed the lawns and trimmed hedges. Participants also helped take part in litter-picking and promoted the benefits of recycling to residents, as well as Jigsaw Rewards and the Group’s employment and skills services.

Resident Mrs Begum said: “Your timing couldn’t have been better, as I’m moving house today so will use those skips. Thanks very much for providing them once again.”

Martin Curtis said: “It’s important that we keep reminding people about not contaminating their bins and it was good to discuss different engagement approaches with ENVA.”
