Jigsaw Homes colleagues were joined by local councillors in Stalybridge for a community clean-up day across the Crowswood Estate as part of Jigsaw’s Giving Something Back days.
Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Joanne Shaw teamed up with Jigsaw’s Caretaking, Grounds Maintenance and Tenancy Safety teams alongside Tameside councillors Steven Barton, Christine Beardmore and Adrian Pearce to collect fly tipped rubbish from the estate.
Five roll-on skips were available for residents to dispose of their unwanted items and two caged vans collected bulky items direct from people’s addresses. The team also litter picked around the area to help make it tidier and give a sense of pride back to residents for their area.
Miss Ward from Ravenhead Square said: “I just want to say a big thank you to Jigsaw Homes. My home used to be like a show home but due to a decline in my mental health things have gotten on top of me adding to my anxiety and depression. With the help of Jigsaw and my neighbours, today has given me the chance to start the process of getting my home back to being a nice place to be.”
