More than 300 residents and volunteers have upskilled and developed their careers with free accredited training courses organised by Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Team.
Since April 2024, 136 people have completed Emergency First Aid Skills at Work and 208 have completed Food Hygiene Level 2 in several of Jigsaw’s neighbourhoods.
There are more opportunities for people to attend courses, including several Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid Skills and Food Hygiene Level 2 courses. These will be running from March to October at Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Hub in Dukinfield.
John McGlynn, Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, said: “Doing these courses has improved employment prospects for those seeking paid or voluntary work, alongside providing a worthwhile learning experience people can build upon, generating a feeling of achievement”.
