Our Neighbourhood Engagement team supported a community fun day in Gorton, Manchester to celebrate the newly unveiled Vine Street community mural.
The mural, which was revealed in June 2023, was designed by local artist Richard Preston and painted on the gable end of one of our homes for all to enjoy.
Residents were invited to visit stalls in which children could make grass seed heads, enjoy performances by local artists, play on a bouncy castle, have their face painted and watch an enchanting magician.
Neighbourhood Officers Julie Fraser, Gemma Batchelor and Carolyn Alston supported the event and offered families energy advice, Jigsaw Rewards information, training opportunities and employment advice.
Manchester City Council organised the fun day alongside other community group including Friends of Vine Street, Rosgal Ltd, One Manchester, Brewers Decorators and Acron Housing.
