Spending an Evening at the Theatre

Last week, residents taking part in Jigsaw Support’s Skills Exchange Tameside courses enjoyed a dazzling night at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester to watch the latest production of ‘Spend, Spend, Spend!’

Participants were invited to the theatre as part of their Costume Design and Front of House/Customer Service courses with Skills Exchange Tameside – a partnership between Jigsaw Support and the Royal Exchange Theatre to provide free courses to economically inactive women in Tameside.

Each course teaches participants a range of different skills, including teamwork, customer service, technical and production skills. Depending on the course, they will also receive a certificate in Food Hygiene or First Aid.

One resident commented: “I found the course fantastic and it’s one of the best things I have done this year.”

Following the completion of each course, participants will become Tameside Champions and can help with the planning and programming of the Royal Exchange’s pop-up theatre and arts festival The Den which will be based in Stalybridge in May 2025.
