A group of Tameside learners who have already completed the adult numeracy programme Multiply, have now also gained their Health and Social Care Level 1 qualification.
The course, held at Jigsaw’s Tameside Women and Their Families Centre, provides an introduction to working in Health and Social Care. It is aimed at developing skills and knowledge for progression into employment within the Early Years sector or onto Level 2 Introduction to Childcare and Education.
Whitney George, Jigsaw’s Women’s Keyworker, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by these women, who enrolled on the course after successfully completing the Multiply Course, which is run by Jigsaw Support.
“They have now signed up to do their Level 2 at Tameside College, which is a brilliant testament to their growing confidence. Being able to be part of their journey has been an amazing experience and I’m excited to see what the future holds for them.”
Tameside Women and Their Families Service is now part of Jigsaw’s Bridges Partnership and will primarily be for women impacted by domestic abuse and those working with probation.
The centre will also support women with other needs via a wide variety of courses, groups and drop-in sessions, such as mental health, parenting, substance misuse, finances and education and training.
