Jigsaw Foundation Funds Creative Arts in Ashton

Young people in Cedar Park, Ashton found a creative outlet over the school holidays thanks to free creative arts workshops funded by the Jigsaw Foundation.

Prime Active Communities CIC was awarded £5,175 from the Jigsaw Foundation to offer workshops in filmmaking, music, podcasting, and animation, led by professional artists alongside qualified youth workers.

The goal was to create a safe, inclusive environment for creative expression and personal growth while aiming to improve the emotional well-being of attendees. It also helped them develop new creative skills and build confidence; diverting young people from negative behaviours and increasing their engagement in education.

The sessions also benefitted the local community by addressing anti-social behaviour, improving community safety and empowering young people by encouraging their involvement in decision-making.

Mark Turton, Project Manager at Prime Active Communications CIC, said: “A big thank you to all the young people who joined us at Create @ Cedar Park for some amazing creative activities. We’ll be  back with more next half-term. We’re also grateful for the generous donation from Jigsaw Homes; your support is invaluable.”
