Youth and play work charity YPAC Manchester can fund more exciting ‘Everyone Can Play’ sessions for children in the community, thanks to £5,000 in funding from our Jigsaw Foundation.
The two-hour sessions take place every Wednesday afternoon during term time at St George’s Community Centre in Collyhurst and include arts, sports and creative play in a fun, safe environment.
Each session has 36 places available to children aged 6-10 on a first come first served basis but with the popularity of ‘Everyone Can Play’, YPAC now have a waiting list.
Young people aged 10 are even offered an additional session that supports their transition from primary school to high school.
YPAC Manchester aims to create environments where children can develop resilience, build positive relationships and emotional intelligence and expand their creativity, play, free thinking and problem solving.
Julie McGlynn, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, said: “The Jigsaw Foundation Team is delighted to be able to support YPAC Manchester with this funding. Currently 60% of the children who attend the Everyone Can Play sessions are from Jigsaw households and we know just how beneficial it is for local families to have the opportunity to access these types of services.”
