Local Jigsaw residents from the newly formed Friends of Cedar Park group came together to host a brand new coffee afternoon.
The ‘Wednesday Welcome Gathering’ launched at the Tameside Council building in Cedar Park, Ashton-Under-Lyne last week to allow residents a safe space to meet up, share a cuppa and socialise.
Gemma Batchelor, Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, attended the launch of the coffee afternoon, which the group also hopes to use as an online support service for residents who struggle to access services online.
Gemma said: “It’s been lovely to see such a good turn out of residents old and new, getting together to socialise and share suggestions and ideas of how to strengthen their community over a cup of coffee and a biscuit.”
The Welcome Wednesday Gathering takes place every Wednesday between 12-2pm at the Tameside Council building.
Any resident living within the Hazelhurst and Ashton area is welcome to attend.
