Foundation Funding Helps Jubilee Celebrations

Resident groups from two of Jigsaw’s Housing For Over 55’s schemes in Tameside have been awarded Jigsaw Foundation funding so they could celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style.

Shaw Street Group from William Ford House in Mottram received £1,465.00 which enabled them to hold a street party with the wider community, as well as paying for gardening equipment and for a small patio area to be created in the communal garden.

Beatrix House and Hunters Court Residents Association from Jigsaw’s extra care scheme in Dukinfield received £2,000. The funding will cover the costs of a regular monthly timetable of fun and sociable activities for all including quiz nights, bingo, as well as a Jubilee garden party and a Christmas party.

Many of the residents are vulnerable with some complex care needs and struggle to attend activities outside of the schemes so the funding will help these groups bring the community together and help alleviate loneliness.
