Jigsaw’s supported scheme Oak Tree House in Lancaster joined forces with charity Red Rose Recovery to host a Summer of LUF event for local residents last week.
The LUF (Lancashire User Forum) event aimed to celebrate recovery, community and connections and a number of support and community services attended to enjoy the highly anticipated sports day and a tasty BBQ.
Teams from Oak Tree House, Walter Lyon House and Red Rose Recovery battled it out in several competitions including an egg and spoon race, archery, a sack race and tug of war.
Oak Tree House’s Mighty Oaks managed to take the gold after winning the tug of war and plans are already underway for another competition at next year’s event.
Shannon O’Hare, Operations Manager – Oak Tree House, said: “This was a wonderful event to bring support and accommodation organisations together and connect over good food and games. New connections were formed and opportunities for volunteering and further close partnership working were made, and we hope next years event will be bigger and better.
“Thank you to everyone who came: to Red Rose for their planning and support with the organisation and equipment, and to all the Jigsaw staff involved in the planning and their hard work on the day to make this successful event.”
