Tameside Citizens Advice Bureau has received a whopping £83,790 in funding from the Jigsaw Foundation to fund a three-year project offering accessible advice to residents in need.
Several free advice services will operate in Acresfield Community Hub in Hyde, the Haughton Green Centre in Denton, the Woman and Children’s Centre at Cavendish Mill in Ashton and the Dukinfield Community Hub in Dukinfield.
They will cover a range of topics ranging from benefits, employment opportunities, education and family advice.
Services will take place at each location once a week and will include face-to-face meetings and follow-up phone calls with existing clients.
The Bureau will receive £27,930 in year one and the rest of the funding will be supplied over years two and three based on the outcomes and reports provided by TCAB.
The service will also work with the Neighbourhood Engagement Team to ensure residents are able to easily access the service.
