Our Apprenticeships

At Jigsaw Homes Group, we are extremely proud of the Apprenticeship Scheme we offer.

We offer a huge range of Apprenticeships across the business to cover all skills sets. From Administration opportunities, Gardening & Estate Service and Trade Roles, including Gas Engineers, Joiners, Electricians and more.

We also offer Apprenticeships in more Specialist areas such as Neighbourhood Safety, Property Sales, Data Protection, Connect Contact Centre and Finance.

Apprentice roles are offered primarily on a fixed term contract and the length would depend on the qualification you are studying for, with a view to obtaining a permanent position within Jigsaw.

Take a look at the success stories below to see how much it’s possible to achieve when starting with us an Apprentice!

The Apprenticeship Programme

The apprenticeship programmes range from 18 months to four years in length – dependent on the role.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will enjoy a bespoke development plan – tailored to the individual and the role, there are clear milestones, regular feedback and positive mentoring. The success of this approach has been proven time and time again.

Apprentices often become role models for others within the business, growing in self-confidence and developing their skills in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to all this, apprentices will have access to an established support network of ‘past and present’ apprentices to provide every opportunity for them to flourish.

- Lloyd , Gas Engineer

Before joining I was constantly bouncing from job to job mostly doing work on zero hour contacts. Jigsaw offered me a 4 year contract working daytime hours which gave my personal life a good balance as I previously worked nights.

From the first day I joined I was made to feel welcome by all my colleagues many of whom had completed apprenticeships themselves with the company. I found once my team got to know me and realized I was serious about learning they were more than happy to answer any questions to help me learn and no question was ever a silly question.

I would say my highlight was working on the Miles Platting boiler program with the Gas Installation Team where we replaced all of the boilers on the estate. During my apprenticeship I was always set achievable challenges to help build my confidence and skill set.

Now that my apprenticeship is completed I now work as a Gas Engineer doing responsive repairs where no day is ever the same. It’s been an intense journey but one I’m most definitely glad I’ve taken.

- Monica, Health & Safety Assistant

During my Apprenticeship at Jigsaw Homes Group I gained my certificate in Maths and English Level 2 and last year I achieved Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard for Customer Service Practitioner and also won Apprentice Resilience Award 2020.

Despite the challenges and barriers that 2020 has put in our way, I had full support from my managers to continue with my apprenticeship and they always gave me time off when I needed this for studying. After completing my Apprenticeship I got a new role working in Neighbourhood Engagement where I had the opportunity to develop more skills and add more knowledge to my career. It was a great challenge for me to start a new position during the pandemic, but with a massive support from my line manager things were made simple and I managed to complete all my tasks.

I then applied for a position in the Health and Safety Team and after being successful at interview I started 3 months ago and I am enjoying so much. This role is a permanent position and I am so proud of myself with everything that I achieved so far. Jigsaw Homes Group is the perfect place to start your career as a new starter/apprentice, I felt so welcome not just by my colleagues, but by all the departments within the organisation. They made me feel welcome and I have everything that I could ever ask for from a work place.

Now, I am thinking that I would like to continue my studies and get qualified in Health and Safety and I know very well that I have all the support from my managers and guidance I need to develop and grow in my career. In less than 3 years I’ve learnt so much, I have become more confident and I work for a company that value staff and I feel like I have found a job for life.
