Jigsaw’s property compliance team provides clarity around legislative requirements, ensuring policies and plans are in place for Gas Safety, Electrical Safety, Smoke and CO Safety, Fire Safety, Water Hygiene, Asbestos and Lift Management.
Cyclical inspection regimes are in place for each of these health and safety requirements. The compliance team undertake regular on-site and desktop audits to ensure the highest possible standard of work is achieved by our technicians and contractors.
Actions arising from property inspections and assessments are recorded, prioritised and tasked within our corporate information system. Comprehensive reporting enables monitoring by operational teams of progress implementing the actions and accountability to Health and Safety Committee and Board.
Jigsaw’s dedicated health and safety team works with colleagues across the organisation to develop safe systems of working from both the employee and customer perspective. Our Health and Safety Policy summarises our approach. Jigsaw’s maintenance work complies with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
We identify the health and safety training essential to each role and monitor individual compliance with those requirements. Employees not fulfilling compliance for their role have their duties restricted until they regain compliance.
Jigsaw communicates regularly with tenants about safety matters relevant to their homes and provides a summary of this guidance on-line.
Jigsaw recognises the health risks of damp and mould and the challenges these present to residents. We continue to adapt our approach to dealing with damp and mould to support tenants, including the establishment of a Healthy Homes Team.
