Dukinfield Central Community Garden achieved a Level 4 ‘Thriving’ Award for the third year running at the RHS North West’s ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ awards 2024.
RHS judge David Bielawski visited the garden and scored it an overall 82/100 at the awards, reflecting the hard work residents, volunteers and our Neighbourhood Engagement Team have dedicated to ensuring the garden thrives.
Resident Lorraine Simpson said: “We are really pleased to gain another award from the RHS this year. What we do is important, and it is nice to be recognised for what we have achieved in making a noticeable positive contribution to the neighbourhood.”
Neighbourhood engagement officer John McGlynn commented: “The volunteers and garden are a brilliant asset to the neighbourhood, as without the volunteers applying their skills and growing in the garden we would have an empty space.
“They work very hard to improve the area year on year, so this award is recognition of what they have achieved together once again. It has been my pleasure working with and supporting the project over the past six years. Well done!”
