This Summer, 242 Jigsaw Rewards members took part in our Community Investment Strategy consultation and 186 members took part in our Resident Engagement consultation.
The feedback from these consultations have been reviewed and is helping to shape our new combined strategy covering both these topics.
A lot of the feedback from the resident engagement strategy consultation was very positive and we found that:
- 98% of survey participants said they either agreed or strongly agreed that we offer residents a number of different ways to get involved.
- 94% of survey participants told us that they agreed or strongly agreed that we give residents meaningful opportunities to shape our policies and strategies.
- 97% of survey participants said being a part of Jigsaw Rewards gave them opportunities to have a say on our services than they expected.
Here’s more specific examples of the feedback you gave and how we are acting on it:
You said: 97% of survey participants in our Community Investment Strategy consultation said they supported our proposed new employment targets, which include increasing how many people we will help each year with job searches and assistance to 770 people, increasing how much training we deliver, supporting more people to start their own business and delivering work clubs in one less location.
We did: the proposed targets will become our actual targets.
You said: 97% of survey participants Community Investment Strategy consultation also supported the proposed changes to our targets to assist tenants with financial wellbeing including supporting one additional food pantry/community grocers, reducing how much one-to-one energy advice we deliver (e.g. support to switch supplier), and delivering seven new warm homes in our neighbourhoods.
We did: the proposed targets will become our actual targets.
You said: In the Community Investment Strategy survey, 96% of survey participants supported our Neighbourhood Plans approach, where we group areas with significant numbers of homes close to each other into neighbourhoods to better target our services. However, in the Resident Engagement Strategy survey, only 37% of participants had prior knowledge of the neighbourhood plans.
We did: We will continue to take a neighbourhood plans approach and explore ways to increase awareness of the plans.
You said: 97% of participants in our Community Investment Strategy consultation said they supported our approach of distributing Jigsaw Foundation funding to community projects run by both resident groups and other community organisations.
We did: We will continue to allocate funding to both these types of groups.
You said: 74% of participants in our Community Investment Strategy consultation said they felt our hardship fund was larger enough.
We did: This is positive, but since 26% told us they felt it wasn’t enough, we will also look into ways to increase the size of the hardship fund.
You said: 17.5% of the survey participants in our Resident Engagement Strategy consultation said they would like to receive some support from Jigsaw to access employment or volunteering opportunities.
We did: Referrals were made to the relevant team for each of these people.
You said: Only a third of survey participants were aware that two resident scrutiny panels take place each year and only 24% of survey participants of our Resident Engagement Strategy consultation were aware that residents are able to apply for Board Member positions at Jigsaw.
We did: We are working on ways to increase residents’ awareness of these opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey.
