Members of Jigsaw’s Dukinfield Craft Café faced the ‘dragons’ at the Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club’s annual dragons’ den.
The group shared the essential work they do at the Jigsaw Hub in Dukinfield, including hosting weekly activities to craft and connect with others in the community, and they highlighted how the project benefits the wider area. They were successful in securing £350 in funding.
Resident Kimberley Newton and her daughter Bayleigh pitched to the panel made up of Rotary members John Gwyther, Steph Fitton and George Hawkins. She said: “It was a fantastic result as this will really help us buy resources and materials to allow us to continue crafting for the community this year. We were able to share our project to everyone in the room and we had some great feedback which was lovely”.
Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer John McGlynn said: “It was great to be able to help the group with the funding application; seeing how much they have grown and developed over the past two years at the hub has been a privilege. Funding goes a long way to help them to become sustainable and they now know they can do it again in the future.”
The Craft Café is open to anyone every week at The Jigsaw Hub in Dukinfield from 11.30am-1.30pm and also provides activities for local families during the school holidays.
