When you move into a Jigsaw Group home, it should be safe, clean, and well maintained. Our promise to you is to ensure that your new home comes with a good standard of repair and cleanliness, ready for you to move in.
Our Lettable Standards, set out below, explain the standard of home that you can expect when taking a new tenancy with us.
- The property will be clean and clear of all belongings from the previous tenant
- The property will be checked and free from infestation
- The floors will be thoroughly swept and clean
- All gas and electrical appliances/fittings that we’ve supplied are in a safe and working order
- Kitchen units, worktops, splashback tiles and sinks will be clean and in good working order
- Installation of plumbing and electrical sockets for an automatic washing machine will be completed
- Extractor fans will be clean and in good working order
- All gardens should be cleared for the needs of the tenant. Clear and free from significant hazard and presentable to a reasonable standard
- All internal and external doors to be in good condition and accessible at all times. All external doors will have their locks changed
- Polystyrene ceiling tiles will be removed from all rooms
- Walls and ceilings will be free from significant plaster defects
- All external paved areas will be left in a good condition and free from trip hazards
- All internal woodwork will be in good condition and free from decay
- Splashbacks and sealants will be clean and in good condition
- All floors and fixed wall coverings will be in good and safe condition
- In instances where the property is in particularly poor condition, we will decorate the required rooms, leave a paint pack or offer the customer decorating vouchers
- All windows will be checked and required to ensure they open freely
- Floor coverings such as floor tiles will be securely fitted and any laminate flooring will be left in place if fitted well and in good condition (any laminate flooring will be removed from flats above the ground floor)
- The property to be free from damp and mould
- All battery operated smoke alarms will be tested and batteries changed as necessary to ensure they are fully operational
- To be made aware of where the stop tap is located in this property
- Identify any large trees within the boundary of the void property.
